Florida Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders
Barefoot & Pregnant is the Way We Like Our Mares!!
Welcome to our site! Spitz Folly Farm is located in Elkton, Florida, 14 miles west of St. Augustine, located between Daytona Beach and Jacksonville on the east coast of Florida. After 30 years of horse ownership, we have ventured into the world of breeding and raising fine old-line Tennessee Walking Horses, a true Southern breed. In 1996 my first walking horse literally walked up to my farm one morning and changed my entire life. Brisco taught me there is no finer horse on this planet than a Tennessee Walker! Beautiful inside & out possessing amazing versatility and a giant heart wanting to please.
In 2005 we met Rafael Valle, owner of the famous naturally gaited palomino TWH stallion Ivory Pal and when we saw Pal we knew we had to find some exceptional mares to breed to him. After much searching we acquired our first broodmares from Mr. Wilbur Odom of Thomaston, GA. We owe unlimited gratitude to Mr. Odom for all the support and advice he gave us over the years. He truly loved the breed and put some fine walking horses into the registry, and we want to follow in his footsteps.
In October of 2005 we added Goldust Misty Moon from Layne Conner at Triple Bar C. Thanks Layne! In fact we were so impressed with Moon we went back and got another of her fillies: Chance Surprise Dement!! They are both from Tennessee Goldust lines. And as fate would have it a few more walking horses came into our lives...with the most special one being our first foal born on Spitz Folly Farm, our beautiful black stallion Wilbur.
We do not alter our horses in any way. Color is not a priority on our farm, we focus on good conformation, good disposition, proven bloodlines. We train with natural horsemanship principles, using the join-up method. Training is slow and consistent, this has made all the difference in their attitude and trust in humans. Each of our horses is a beloved treasure, their comfort and health is top priority.
Due to recent circumstances all the horses are for sale except Brisco. Serious inquires only, it would please me very much for the horses to go to a breeder interested in continuing the old lines. We do have two mares Nell and Surprise bred to Wilbur and are expecting an April and August birth. There also is a nice 16hh white and black spotted gelding we have for sale $2750 not pictured here, also another 16.2hh Last Chance palomino mare.
